Marine Drive - Wall bw two worlds!

A bright sunny afternoon after a long spell of rains and dampness makes you wonder what better can exist on this earth. Nature with its huge bag of pleasant surprises never stops controlling your thoughts. Sometimes it lifts ur sprits at other times make u all gloomy nd sad..

Today is one such bright occasion and to enjoy it I have a holiday so tht I can soak in the sunshine. Sitting at ever changing marine drive my thoughts are flowing. This is an amazing place. It makes that little philosopher inside u rise from its slumber. Poetry again starts flowing..

On one side of it the modern civilisation is displaying its best colours . The broad roads, most expensive cars running by, tallest of the buildings, nicely dressed people , couples playing with each other , teenagers laughing their heart out, it seems like human being has build a beautiful world for himself. It represents the infinite toil human kind has undertaken to replace the vast, deep ocean by this materialistic, shallow but beautiful world, the world which give birth to thousand of aspirations daily, the world which establishes the supremeness of mankind.

On the other side of it in deep contrast lies the magnificent, multicoloured sea with its surface shining brightly in some parts while others shadowed by the clouds overhead. Water has acquired the colour of sky. Waves splashing the stones on the shore, drenching them and scorpions resting on them with water. It is vast, deep and extends till it meet the sky. Thr at the horizon u can see the outlines of a ship as if it has gone as far as it can. Beneath its radiating surface, thr is another world, a world which is deep, unending and full of secrets, a world in which thousands of aspirations drown daily, a world which is free of all the materialistic pleasures and which makes u wonder how tiny u r in whole scheme of things, how shallow and how devoid of knowledge.

Two worlds separated by tiny wall as if offering the choice to people sitting on it busy devouring the scene with their eyes, to choose between two worlds...

Inside the head of Fountain Head

This immensely popular novel says volumes about individuality . A lot has already been said in the praise of the novel so I wuld like to look at from the author;s perspective why the novel was structured in a way it was ..Some thoughts tell me tht Ayn rand was having huge insight of the minds of the readers . Let me explain why i thought so

First of all the independence of the main character HR , Ever a thought strike why he was an orphan .. Why was he having no one around him no relatives no friends if thr were they were at the later stage of the novel . Coz that kind of background definitely provides for the freedom he enjoys ! no worries abt ne thing Only doin what u like to do !! Obviously when u hav no one to care abt why wuld u wry ! But that doesn't take away the merit of the character. Being free of every desire of the world be it money, fame, power is something which if a normal person achieves he vl not remain a normal person but rather become the GOD .. Somehow i connect the msg of the novel to the Geeta- saar which also says abt doing ur wrk and forgetting everything else.. Love the path not the ends.. Path is much more important than the end itself .. And they say abt Long term Vision .. Neways More on that later..

Another thing which makes me write this was why Mr. HR finally succeed . He as a person was having no desire of any sort of success (the way it is defined in the normal world ,money ,power , fame ). If someone is HR he vl not care what becomes of him .. Then why Ayn Rand made him successful in the end .. Why that statement that if u stick with what u r the world will change and started following u .. Person who is like Mr Hr may would be hardly intrested in influencing the world ..Lets look it frm another perspective Would public liked the novel so much had Mr. Roark would not hav succeeded in the end ? No ,And that was the reason why Author made him win .. Bcoz that is what ppl would like to hear . they would not have even paid a heed to same novel which now everyone likes to wear on their sleeves so fondly. Thts why I say that Ayn Rand was having gud insight into readers mind .. On the second thoughts.. Wasnt that the reason Why Pandavas win in Mahabaharatha ..Otherwise ppl would not hav heard of Geeta Saar .. We r all so obsessed with the win which is only an end not the means ..

Ironical it is that the msg given by the novel Tht is the desires shuld be killed are the same desires novel is catering to .. PPl want to win and they say tht kill the desire to win and u will win !!!

But then aim of the author is not to do social service but to sell the novels thus the end..

Of Sins nd Virtues !!

Is thr nethin right or wrong in this wrld ?? What is right or for matter what is wrong ? Shouldnt they be INDIVIDUAL perceptions based on one's own beliefs ?? So how can there be set of universal guidelines or laws or morals which are applicable to all? What i mean is simply that what may b wrong fr one person may b right fr another. Other day i was studying law and it surprised me that according to Indian Penal Code to steal a bread is not a crime if u r hungry! Why ?? bcoz hunger is a basic requirement ! but then are so many basic requirements which are not fulfilled . A person may be in dire need of money and steal it. So should it b crime ? Everyone has their own need . How can b take decision for other and can say that this particular need is essential to existence and other is not ? I mean tht someone who is not able to marry her sister bcoz of lack of money, may find it shameful enough to end his life .So is not the stealth valid for him ? As they say in Shantaram, "Wrong thing for the right reason". As for the basic existence sex is also a primary need . And person too deprived of it, may not b able to control himself . So this way even rape should not b a crime . I knw i m looking like a devil's advocate of it and u may b thinkin what a jerk he is but come to think of it .Are not u thinkin like this bcoz u r programmed to think like this ? bcoz it was always fed to us right frm the childhood that to steal or to rape is bad? Who decides what is wrong or what is right and on what basis ?? Was it some ruler who wants ppl to behave in a manner so that it is easy fr him to rule??After all teaching everyone to always speak the truth helps avoiding lot of problem . It significantly reduces the chances of double cross!! Just spare a thought how simple world vl become if everyone obeys the laws, so simple the task of d ruler ! Mr. Taleb wuld have no need to explain Black Swans then !!

Then why everyone keeps teaching that this is right this is wrong? Who r they to interfere in others person life ?Everyone in this world thinks that what he is doing is right . But what makes him believe that what he considers to be right is right ? Each one of us try and keep influencing other our way ? V want evryone to think like us . Why ? I cannot understand the whole phenomena of correcting each other? Dont spit on road . Dont honk unnecessarily etc etc Dont piss on road side ? Why ? What i m supposed to do i need to piss and thr r not ne loo around ? What does people use to do in ancient times whn thr was no such thing as a loo ?? Why it become bad then ? Why roaming around naked is wrong ? If everyone does it , wuld it luk odd at all ?No, it wuld not. Thats the whole point. What made us think that this progress of ours from no clothes (read ancient times) to clothes(modern world) is progressive ?Rules , Rules and more rules which does not make ne sense .Why r v supposed to follow these norms whn they may not hav ne sense at all ? I simply cannot understand why speaking a lie is wrong ? Think of it if wuld hav defined that speaking truth is wrng , then ? wuld the wrld hav stopped functioning ?? no, it wuld be still b thr just that v wuld hav beeen tuned to behave a liitle differently !! All of this right , wrong looks like a way to rule me . and they talk of freedom . The preachers and the correctionists or revolutionaries fr that matter, all are over confident pigs with highly inflated egos, who think tht only thy r right nd its thr right to demean others or to improve others who r not like them.They forget that Some of the worst wrongs were caused by people trying to change things. Whom they seem to correct is nothing is there senses they r not at par, they r lowly humanbeings v need to teach them !WtF . Remember same argument was given by the British for justifying the colonisation "We are teaching them ways to live by provinding technology" and why even church did that in name of spreading enlightment ....

In the end thr is no such thing a sin or a virtue. It is all a game of power. They all have been invented with a single minded goal of ruling ppl, gaining power over them ..Basic desire of human being ....Thus only one rule applies "Survival of the fittest" . Its a wild jungle out there and the GOD rules it !!Ever heard dont do this ,its again the will of GOD.. who is that GOD nobdy knws ,bt yes they were all RULERS or they became one eventually !!
